Not a proper update. Just figured I should say yes, I'm alive. Yes, I hiked the Grand Canyon: yes, it's big. And hot. And empty. I took notes. I saw bluebirds, squirrels, mule deer, and the shadow of a coyote. And cacti! I keep seeing cacti, just growing wild, in the open, like they're not delicate plants that require very specific care if they are to survive...

Have been staying with Julie and husband in Sun City West, which is also hot, and very very dry, and I have been coughing a lot, which worries them. However, I have also solved multiple computer problems for them (they bought a Sony VAIO with Windows XP nearly 3 years ago) which gives me a mild sense of accomplishment in the middle of all of my holidaying.

Plus, Julie's been forcing me (oh yes, kicking and screaming) to watch Smallville. My goodness, Lex is very much in love with Clark, isn't he?

Flying home tomorrow. Arriving Friday. Sad to go, but will be glad to be home. Also to be able to breathe without coughing. Humidity, I need humidity!
