10:55 pm: Jerry Springer: Have I Got News For You
I watched the extended edition of Have I Got News For You with Jerry Springer: it was funny, I love TV when it goes meta.

(I don't know whether Jerry Springer really is that ignorant of British politics or humour, or if he just thought it was funnier if he acted as if he was reacting like that to the lines off the autoprompt. I suspect the latter, but it's certainly more amusing.)

I'm watching a Harrison Ford film I missed when it came out, probably because it sounded really unpromising: he plays a career banker whose family is kidnapped. He was sixty-four when the film was made and he looks it: but it's still kinda fun. For my own particular values of fun.

I haven't watched hignfy yet, I didn't realise it was Jerry Springer, I'm quite looking forward to that now.

And yes, that film was much better than I thought it was going to be. It is more like the films I imagine Harrison Ford makes than the films Harrison Ford actually makes.

Yes. It was in many ways a very classic Harrison Ford type movie, except he was grumpier than he usually is, but I was fine with that. I like him grumpy.

It was all a bit pointless, but it was quite fun.

I was confused by that episode because it seemed to be very much pre-recorded, as in several months ago. Actually I wandered off in the middle on the assumption that I must've seen it before, but seemingly it wasn't a repeat and I was wrong so to do. Bother.

It *felt* pre-recorded, didn't it? I think they left out a lot of current-events-ing. Perhaps Jerry Springer couldn't cope.

It was pre-recorded - the week Oliver Postgate died, whenever that was. Some months ago, I think.

Oh was it? Oliver Postgate died 8th December, so I guess this was a repeat, though I don't remember seeing it before...

I don't think it was a repeat though - I think it was sort of scheduled and pre-recorded. Maybe it was only time they could get Jerry Springer or something. It was quite strange for a topical news quiz.

Yes. It was a fun episode, but not quite fun enough to lose all the possible jokes about MP expenses that we missed as a result.
